Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup whole milk
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 ½ cups candy melts (white or colored)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (optional, for smoother coating)
- Sprinkles (optional, for decoration)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, alternating with milk until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before proceeding.
- Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl until fine crumbs form.
- Use your hands to mix in frosting (if desired) until the mixture holds together.
- Roll the mixture into balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Freeze for about 30 minutes for easier coating.
- Melt candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.
- Dip the end of cake pop sticks into the melted candy, then insert into the cake balls.
- Dip each cake pop into the melted candy, allowing excess to drip off.
- Place upright in a styrofoam block or cake pop stand to set.
- Decorate with sprinkles before the coating hardens (optional).
