Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups candy melts (white or colored)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (optional, for smoother coating)
  • Sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, alternating with milk until combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let cool completely before proceeding.
  10. Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl until fine crumbs form.
  11. Use your hands to mix in frosting (if desired) until the mixture holds together.
  12. Roll the mixture into balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  13. Freeze for about 30 minutes for easier coating.
  14. Melt candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.
  15. Dip the end of cake pop sticks into the melted candy, then insert into the cake balls.
  16. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy, allowing excess to drip off.
  17. Place upright in a styrofoam block or cake pop stand to set.
  18. Decorate with sprinkles before the coating hardens (optional).
