Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground breakfast sausage, preferably mild
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 can Rotel tomatoes with green chilies, drained
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, sharp or mild
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and ground sausage until well mixed. Add the drained Rotel tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until fully combined.
- Using an ice cream scoop or tablespoon, portion the mixture into 1- to 1.5-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) with a meat thermometer.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm.
