Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (120ml) whole milk
  • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup (50g) brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter, softened (for spreading)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, and egg until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. In the prepared loaf pan, pour half of the batter, then spread the softened butter on top and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Pour the remaining batter on top, spreading it evenly.
  8. Use a knife to gently swirl the batter and filling together to create a marbled effect.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
