Ingredients:

  • 6 cups sliced apples (about 6 medium apples, preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100g)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (120g)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed (115g)
  • 1/2 cup milk (120ml)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice apples. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and lemon juice. Toss to coat and set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk until just combined.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into the baking dish. Spoon the topping evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  6. Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving.
