Ingredients:
- 6 cups sliced apples (about 6 medium apples, preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100g)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (120g)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed (115g)
- 1/2 cup milk (120ml)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and slice apples. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and lemon juice. Toss to coat and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk until just combined.
- Pour the apple mixture into the baking dish. Spoon the topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving.
