Ingredients:
- 2 large russet potatoes (about 2-3 cups grated)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped (about 1/2 cup)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (30 g) - optional for binding
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- Cooking spray or oil for air frying
Instructions:
- Peel and grate the russet potatoes using a box grater or food processor.
- Place grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and wring out excess moisture.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes with chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, flour (if using), and the beaten egg.
- Form potato mixture into crown shapes or patties and place them on a baking sheet. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Spray the air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray. Place the crowns in a single layer in the basket.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the air fryer and allow to cool slightly before serving.
