Ingredients:

  • 2 large russet potatoes (about 2-3 cups grated)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped (about 1/2 cup)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (30 g) - optional for binding
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • Cooking spray or oil for air frying

Instructions:

  1. Peel and grate the russet potatoes using a box grater or food processor.
  2. Place grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and wring out excess moisture.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes with chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, flour (if using), and the beaten egg.
  4. Form potato mixture into crown shapes or patties and place them on a baking sheet. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  6. Spray the air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray. Place the crowns in a single layer in the basket.
  7. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the air fryer and allow to cool slightly before serving.
