Ingredients:
- 1 pound (454g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon (10g) grated Romano cheese (optional)
- 1 tablespoon (8g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.5g) salt
- 1/8 teaspoon (0.75g) black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions:
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to help them crisp up.
- Gently warm the olive oil and minced garlic in a small bowl (microwave 30 seconds or gently heat on the stovetop). Don't burn the garlic!
- In a medium bowl, combine the shrimp, garlic oil, Parmesan cheese, Romano cheese (if using), flour, garlic powder, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
- Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they aren't overcrowded. You may need to cook in batches.
- Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the shrimp are pink and opaque and the parmesan crust is golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.
