Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • 1 ½ teaspoons (6g) baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon (1g) salt
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (120ml) milk, any kind
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) vegetable oil (or melted unsalted butter)
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (2g) ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons (30-45ml) milk, or as needed for desired consistency
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Whisk together dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, sugar) in a large bowl.
  2. In the same bowl, add milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix!
  3. Use a cookie scoop or two spoons to drop small balls of dough onto a lightly floured surface or a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Arrange the donut holes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them. Cook for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. You may need to cook in batches.
  6. While the donut holes are cooking, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. If making a glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a separate bowl until smooth.
  7. While the donut holes are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated. If using glaze, dip the warm donut holes into the glaze.
  8. Place the coated donut holes on a wire rack to cool slightly before serving.
