Ingredients:
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
- 1 ½ teaspoons (6g) baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon (1g) salt
- ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
- ½ cup (120ml) milk, any kind
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) vegetable oil (or melted unsalted butter)
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
- ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon (2g) ground cinnamon
- 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons (30-45ml) milk, or as needed for desired consistency
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
- Whisk together dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, sugar) in a large bowl.
- In the same bowl, add milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix!
- Use a cookie scoop or two spoons to drop small balls of dough onto a lightly floured surface or a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Arrange the donut holes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them. Cook for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. You may need to cook in batches.
- While the donut holes are cooking, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. If making a glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a separate bowl until smooth.
- While the donut holes are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated. If using glaze, dip the warm donut holes into the glaze.
- Place the coated donut holes on a wire rack to cool slightly before serving.
