Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Shrimp (Large or Jumbo, peeled, deveined, and dried)
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Thyme
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 3/4 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper

Instructions:

  1. Thaw the shrimp completely and place them on several layers of paper towels, patting them aggressively dry. Moisture is the enemy of crisp air-fried food.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the Smoked Paprika, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Dried Oregano, Dried Thyme, Cayenne Pepper, Kosher Salt, and Black Pepper. Whisk until evenly mixed.
  3. Place the dried shrimp in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice, tossing until evenly coated.
  4. Sprinkle the prepared Cajun seasoning blend liberally over the oiled shrimp. Toss thoroughly until every piece is covered. Let the shrimp rest for 5–10 minutes while you preheat the air fryer.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for at least 3 minutes.
  6. Arrange the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; work in batches if necessary.
  7. Air fry the shrimp for 3 minutes. Open the basket, toss or flip the shrimp using tongs, and return to the air fryer for another 2–4 minutes.
  8. Check doneness: Shrimp is ready when it is opaque, bright pink, and curled into a gentle ‘C’ shape. Total cook time should not exceed 7 minutes. Remove immediately and serve hot.
